Elite/Select TP
Although a large stock removal also can be realised with a coarse grain sanding belt and heavy duty sanding belt motors, the ‘abrasive planing’ method is less used. The large motor powers and a high consumption on sanding belts make the choice in such cases for a planing-sanding combination more obvious. Through such a combination energy consumption is considerably reduced, a higher feed speed can be worked with and less sanding paper will be used.
The planing-sanding machines of the TP range are top working machines having a separate planing unit followed by one or more wide belt sanding units. These machines are put on when more than approx. 1 mm needs to be taken off. The planing unit consists of a cutterhead with quickly exchangeable cutters. The type of cutterhead (cutter knives/cutter plattems) depends on the type of wood to be machined and the customer's preference. Furthermore, the number of sanding units following the cutterhead depends on the final desired finish.
